Joseph Pilates believed that, “health is a normal condition and that it is our duty not only to attain it but also to maintain it.” Imagine that… healthy is normal. We are meant to have vitality. Pilates exercise is an effective toolset that you can use to improve your health and wellbeing. My purpose is to help you get started on your path to better health, teaching you how to achieve the full benefit of Pilates so that you will continue to enrich yourself with your own practice. With this in mind, the approach will be educational – each session is an exchange of information so that you understand which exercises I’ve selected, why they have been selected, how they should be performed, and what benefit you can expect. In turn, your practice will grow, you’ll become stronger, your movement more fluid, and you’ll feel the full benefit of optimum health.

Yes, this is a partnership. I’ll select appropriate exercises, you’ll have my full attention and watchful eye, and you’ll receive ample feedback to make sure that you are most effective. You’ll learn a lot more about your body, orienting yourself to where it is in space, and exploring how specific movements feel. Communication is key. You’ll trust yourself, advising if something doesn’t feel quite right. We’ll respect and listen to each other. Together, we’ll change your body.

Success is a journey and Pilates is the vehicle. We should have a destination in mind and we need some sort of direction. A goal-oriented approach inspires motivation and a more positive outcome. So, what are your goals? Let’s set the intent and be purposeful in our work. We’ll hone in on the areas that need most attention, working within your limits to target them first. Once the priorities are addressed, we’ll focus on your overall fitness and conditioning.
